Purpose
My client is very committed to an offline, analog workflow. However, due to the dawn of the digital age. This initiative aims to equip them with digital tools to help them transition and create a digital presence to compete with future competitors and gain awareness for new customers. By working with a business I was unfamiliar with, I wanted to learn how to identify opportunities and obstacles that present themselves with client work and gain new experiences from working with a client.
The Process
Research
This initial phase involved getting to know the inner workings of the business. I frequently met with the owner of Happy Trails to understand her brand, target audience, market positioning, and overall goals as a business. Through this, the most important aspect I learned was the business's mission statement and what they valued most.
Design
Alongside Lori, the owner of Happy Trails, we collected the most important information for her business to display on the website. This included key information such as hours, location, and pricing of services. From there, we started to work on developing visual elements, such as the brand guide and looking at different color palettes, typography, and logo design. Finally, this helped develop mockups to incorporate the brand guide into.
Feedback and Revisions
Through various weekly meetings, clarification and assurance was able to be discussed between myself and my client. This helped keep me on track throughout the process and make sure I was doing her business justice. This helped us create a final product we were both happy with.
